Coast Guard air crew supports ice research mission

JUNEAU, Alaska - Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Louis C. Bishop, 27, of Fairhope Ala,. releases a helicopter blade for positioning about 100 miles north of Barrow Tuesday. Bishop, a member of the Coast Guard for the past seven years, is a flight crewman from Coast Guard Aviation Training Center (ATC) Mobile, Ala. The flight crew is deployed aboard Coast Guard cutter Healy, based in Seattle, to support scientific ice research funded by the National Science Foundation.
